Sustainable & Treatment Free Honey
Our sustainable Southern California honey is in high demand! We have a limited stock, so get it while you still can!
What do we mean by sustainable?
If the bees do not put it there, neither do we. We do not use any antibiotics, pesticides, fungicides, or any other "-cides" in our hives. We only sustainably harvest surplus as they create honey to sustain their population. We never take honey and feed back sugar water instead. Thus, our harvests and supplies are limited.
How do we process the honey?
We never heat the honey and only strain it rather than fine filter it. So, you get the raw, straight from the hive honey with minimal processing.
What about organic labeling?
Bees travel an average of 2 miles from their hives and up to 7 miles during low forage seasons. In Southern California, that is virtually impossible. Instead, we seek out beyond organic and sustainably managed land for our bees. However, we are urban beekeepers, so we are working with the community to progress towards sustainability and eliminate the use of pesticides. In addition, organic beekeepers are allowed to use plastic foundation and other substances in their hives. Bees raised organically for 3 years must also be used and our bees come from rescued local feral colonies.
Thus, we raised naturally kept and rescued bees and abide by sustainable practices and harvests.
